Overview

This policy covers designthinkingjapan.com, operated by Design Thinking Japan LLC (DTJ), Tokyo, Japan. It explains what data we collect when you visit or contact us, and how we handle it.

What we collect

• Contact inquiries: When you submit a message through our Connect terminal — your name, organization, email address, and the intent of your inquiry.
• Report download: When you request the Future Signals report, we collect your email address to deliver the PDF.
• Voice assistant: If you use the voice option on the site, your audio is processed by a third-party AI voice service in real time. Audio is not recorded or retained by DTJ.
• Text assistant: If you use the text-based studio assistant, your messages are processed by a third-party AI service per request. Conversation content is not stored after the response is returned.
• Technical data: Standard server logs — IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps — retained by our cloud hosting provider.

How we use it

• To respond to your contact inquiry
• To deliver the Future Signals report you requested
• To power the Connect terminal conversation via a third-party AI service
• To monitor site performance and diagnose technical issues
• We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties

Third-party services

We use the following categories of third-party service providers. Each receives only the minimum data necessary to perform its function:

• Cloud hosting provider — site infrastructure and server logs
• Third-party AI voice processing service — real-time audio processing for the voice assistant. Audio is not retained by DTJ.
• Third-party AI text processing service — processes assistant messages per request. Content is not stored after the response is returned.
• Transactional email provider — delivers report download emails and contact inquiry notifications to the DTJ team

We do not use third-party advertising networks, behavioural analytics, or data brokers.

Voice option

If you choose to use the voice option, your browser will request microphone access. Audio is streamed in real time to a third-party AI service for processing. We do not record, store, or retain audio. Microphone access is entirely optional — declining defaults to the text terminal with no loss of functionality.

Cookies

This site uses no tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies. The only browser storage used is your language preference (EN/JP), stored locally on your device.

Data retention

Conversation data is held only in your browser session. Submitted contact information is delivered as email and is not stored on our servers. Email addresses collected for report delivery are retained until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by reaching out through our Connect terminal. Residents of the EU (GDPR) and Japan (APPI) have specific statutory rights — we will honor those requests within 30 days.
